There has been at least one threat about this issue on the old forums, but I can't find anything now, so here goes…

When I log in on any of my characters, both head and shoulder armor often are not displayed in the world view, as if I didn't have them equipped. However the character's hair (and beared) is clipped as if a head armor piece is worn. The armor pieces are displayed correctly in the character panel and the dressing room. Re–equipping them, or switching to a different item will make them show up in the world view, too. This sure isn't a game–breaking issue, but it still is rather annoying, since it can make a character look rather ridiculous.

The issue exists for quite a while now (approximately since the release of 4.0, but I can't say which patch exactly started it).

Recently I have found out that this only appears to happen if I enter the game by double–clicking on a character's name on the character selection screen — i.e. directly logging in with it, without actually displaying it on the selection screen. If I click on a character and wait the split second it takes for it's graphics to load before entering the game, the head and shoulder items seem to always be displayed correctly (cannot confirm this with certainty, though, haven't tested it thoroughly).

The issue persists through deleting the Three Folders of Doom (Cache, Interface, WTF). It happens on three different computers (with completely different hardware).

Hi,

Try clearing out the games cache as well, to do so close the game down then locate your games install folder and delete the Cache folder located within the data folder.

Restart the game, it may appear a little slower, this is because the game is re–create the cache, so you may see some delays when enter an instance.

This thread is a perfect proof of Blizzard's bad technical support.

A problem occurs for many people, somebody reports it and explains it thoroughly (even with a weird solution on its own!). Blue comes and gives an advice, it gets executed and reported as not useful. Then 9 days passes and no other response.

Gelmkar, you are giving an advice to one of your customers and not following if it worked or not? What kind of service is this? If I did the same at my work place with my customers, I would get reported to my boss eventually and in a concurrent situation, I would get fired for not doing my job. Half of service job is to follow the work you have done and see how it went — basically getting feedback and tracking your performance or solutions. But I guess you needed to be told this and you need a good training program about customer service supported by your own company.

Oh well, what am I writing these for? He doesn't follow the threads he gave advices for and obviously will not read this either. Stupid me.

Then if you feel that its a game–breaking bug, I'd recommend that you report the matter in–game to the Game Masters. Technical Support does not handle bug report nor can we fully investigate such bugs, what support we can give is based on standard troubleshooting support.
