So if you like me updated from vista to windows 7 and cannot log in to wow although you have tried everything (port check, flushdns, tracert etc.) this might help you.

Go to C:\ProgramData\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net on your pc. If the Cache folder in there has a lock symbol it will ask you to run/open it as admin. Double click and do so and it will take of the lock symbol. Afterwards start wow and try to log in. Found this on the web and not in this forum and it sure helped me after trying everything else.

Only thing is that i am unsure about the logics behind it but hey, its windows and wow so….

Hi,

Thats a good tip, though personally I'd always recommend that if your going to install a new OS you do it from scratch that way you avoid any left over remnants from an older OS.
