The Scroll of Resurrection has just been infused with powerful glyphs, making it more potent than ever before! During this limited–period offer, both you and friends of your choice can gain awesome benefits and rewards by partaking in the process of 'resurrecting' a World of Warcraft player.

What has changed in this implementation of the Scroll?
  • Potential accounts no longer need to be inactive for 90 days. However, one account can still accept only one scroll of resurrection. The number of accepted scrolls has been reset on 5th of March, 2012 for all accounts.
  • There is no longer a 'hard' limit on how many Scrolls of Resurrection you can send.
  • The Scroll of Resurrection can now be sent both in the account management page and in–game (via the social interface)
  • There are new additional benefits available for both the recruiter and the returning player. See the rest of the thread for details.
Cut to the chase! What are these new rewards?!

The player sending the scroll of resurrection will be now earn a new flying mount for returning a friend to the game! Alliance characters will receive a Spectral Gryphon, while Horde characters will be able to ride a Spectral Windrider.

The player accepting the scroll of resurrection will receive 7 days of free game time to be able to experience the game anew. Additionally, he will also receive some benefits that are completely new to the Scroll of Resurrection feature: they will be able to upgrade their account to Cataclysm for free, if they haven’t done so, they will be able to boost one of their characters to level 80 and rejoin their friend on the realm and faction where they currently reside.

Since the overall process of both sending and receiving the Scroll of Resurrection has been changed considerably, we'll be covering both of these individually in the following supporting articles:

Sending a Scroll of ResurrectionVia account management

The Scroll of Resurrection can still be sent the same old–fashioned way as always. Just log into your Battle.net account management page, select the World of Warcraft license you want to send it from, select the Referrals & Rewards tab. There you will be able to find the link to the Scroll of Resurrection page. You can immediately see that the page underwent some changes. It is quite similar to the Refer a Friend page. You can now see the status of already sent Scrolls in the History tab, accept a received invitation in its own dedicated tab or send one yourself. There is even a new Instructions tab!

One of the main changes to the process consists of you having to select the in–game character you are sending an invitation from, so that your friend will be able to join you by using the free provided transfer and faction change services. This character will also automatically receive the spectral flying mount if your friend chooses to continue playing World of Warcraft and purchases more game time.

You can also identify your friend either by their character name on a specific realm, or by their Battle.net account name. As usual, you will also be able to send them a small custom message.

Via in–game

You also have a completely new option! You can now send a Scroll of Resurrection without having to log into account management. Just open your friends list directly in–game and you will see a new Scroll of Resurrection button. You will be prompted to enter their email address and a small custom message. Done!

Feeling a bit confused about the new system? Don’t worry; we’ve prepared a special support site article that has a step–by–step walkthrough with screenshots of each step:

http://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/sor-walkthrough

We would also like to pre–emptively answer some questions that you might be thinking about:

Can I resurrect one of my own World of Warcraft accounts?
Yes, you can send a Scroll of Resurrection to your own Battle.net account and will be able to accept it if you have a World of Warcraft license that meets the eligibility requirements.
Does a sent scroll of resurrection have an expiration date?
Unfortunately, yes, it is a perishable product. A scroll is only valid for 30 days from the moment it has been sent.
You’ve mentioned the absence of a 'hard' cap of the number of Scrolls I can send. Are there any other limitations?
Indeed, there is no longer a cap of Scrolls you can send. However, you can only send 2 scrolls per day – one through the in–game interface and one through Battle.net account management.
When will I receive the mount?
Your friend will have to pay for 30 days of game time for you to qualify for the mount. You will need to send it to a character of your choice through Battle.net account management in the Scroll of Resurrection page.

Receiving a Scroll of Resurrection

As always, you will receive the Scroll of Resurrection as an e–mail, sent to your Battle.net account address. From there you just have to click on the Play Free Now button, which will automatically redirect you to your Battle.net account management page. There you will be able to select the World of Warcraft license you want to have resurrected.

However, this is the point where the new system differs from the old. You will be taken to the Received Invitations page of the Scroll of Resurrection service where you will be able to select the invitation which you want to accept. Don’t forget that you can only accept one Scroll of Resurrection on one World of Warcraft license!

After accepting a Scroll of Resurrection your account will be immediately granted 7 days of free game time and upgraded to Cataclysm. Then you will be prompted to either Claim Rewards right away, or you can leave that process for later if you like.

Claiming your rewards!

The new rewards will help you get a head start in discovering the content of Cataclysm while doing so with the help of your friend who decided to get you back into the game! To facilitate that we have provided you with an opportunity to boost one of your existing characters directly to level 80. You will also receive a special package of gear for a specialisation of your choice to get you started levelling as soon as possible! The process of selecting that character is quite straightforward, however, please remember that this action is a one time only opportunity and cannot be reversed.

If you have any trouble at any stage you can always refer back to a support site article that has a step–by–step walkthrough:

http://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/sor-walkthrough

We would also like to pre–emptively answer some questions that you might be thinking about:

I know my friend sent me a Scroll of Resurrection but I haven’t received it
Scrolls of Resurrection are sent out once a day, so it could take up to 24 hours for it to show up in your mailbox. Also, make sure that you haven’t recently changed your Battle.net account name – the Scroll has to be sent to the e–mail address that corresponds to your Battle.net account name. Also, don’t forget to check your spam folder.
I’ve decided to not claim my additional rewards immediately. Can I still do it later?
Yes! That option will be available on the Scroll of Resurrection page until you accept them.
What happens to the inventory and skills of the character that is boosted to 80?
Any items equipped on the character before being boosted to level 80 will be sent back by the in–game mail system. The character will also be granted all of the class skills up to level 80, a flying mount and riding skill. Your brand new levelling gear of the chosen specialisation will be automatically equipped.
Can I choose the destination of my free character transfer or forego the process of faction change?
No, you can either transfer your character to the realm or faction of your friend, or forego the process altogether. You will not be able to choose another destination.
Can I accept multiple Scrolls of Resurrection?
After 5th of March, 2012, you will only be able to accept one Scroll of Resurrection per eligible World of Warcraft license. If you’ve received multiple offers – make sure you are selecting the right one.

So if I send the request to my friend and he doesn't accept in the next 30 days will I be able to send him another request after that? I couldn't find anything about that matter while reading the FAQ.

Yes, you should be able to send them another one if the previous scroll invite expired.

So, lets say I resurrected an old account of mine. If I left the benefits untouched, when MoP comes out could I then use those rewards on a new Monk?

This is not something we have information on at this time I'm afraid Amarielle.

How is this 7 free days work? I mean, when I accept the scroll I have to wait to pass the free 7 days before I subscribe, or if I subscribe right away the 7 days will be added to my play time, so I will have like 38 subscription days?

The 7 free days will automatically be added to the account.

If right now Im on a 10 days Cata trial activated through the account management, can I still accept/activate the scroll or I need to wait until the active trial period expires?

If your account was previously inactive and have recently added a trial and wish to use the Scroll of Resurrection promotion, then you'll need to contact our Account and Payment team who will be happy to advise you on what you can do.

If you are returning with the Scroll of Resurrection Juul and you wish to play on the same realm as your friend, then you can still use the option to transfer to the server and not use the option to level the character seeing as it is already 85.

You would still have to log into the character between the character transfer and the faction change Anarchybank if that's what you mean.

Anarchybank that particluar issue is still under investigation and we have a thread about it here:

As for the character not being boosted, please do log into it and let us know if it does not level up.

Jazzyix As stated in our FAQ on the first page of this sticky, you cannot split the perks I am afraid. The character that you wish to transfer is the one that will also get the ability to level to 80. If you have made a mistake and chosen the wrong character, then this is something that you will need to speak to our Account and Payment team about.

Capricon Glad to see you got your answer.

Thanks for the help Firiun!

Dottie The information about them being at the same time is in the detailed step–by–step guide.

Once you choose to claim your rewards, you must select the character you wish to receive them. The character selected will be leveled to 80 (if they aren't already), and will be provided with level–appropriate gear based on the talent specialization you choose.
Once you've chosen the receiving character, you will be presented with your upgrade options. If the friend who resurrected you plays on a different realm or for the opposite faction, you will be given the option to join them.

Hustlin If you have not already done so, please contact our Account and Payment team and they'll be happy to advise you further.

Anarchybank You can either create a level 1 on your friends realm and boost it to 80, move a low level character from a different realm to your friends one and boost it to 80 or move a level 85 character to your friends realm. I am afraid that you cannot split the perks.

Llw You are limited to one scroll per World of Warcraft account. If you have multiple World of Warcraft accounts, then you'll be able to send each one a scroll.

Tozseker When you claim your mount you'll be able to choose which character gets it.

Smegface I've updated the front page with a new question that answers this.

Pandadin When you click the option to transfer your friend, the process is automatic and as such you will not be able to choose the option of moving the character to a different account. The character is moved directly to your friends realm and adjusted accordingly depending on which faction your friend is.

Chenault Sadly we were experiencing some issues with this matter yesterday, please try again and if you are still unable to level up, you are welcome to raise an in–game petition and one of our in–game Support Representatives will be happy to assist you further.

While I appreciate everyone has a lot of questions about this updated service, it is definitely worth making sure that you have read through the FAQ as well as the spotlight carefully before asking a question. It is also worth reading through the thread to see if the question has already been asked and whether we have given the answer. This will help reduce the number of duplicated questions.

Sloz I appreciate you are frustrated, but bear in mind that while returning players are getting rewarded, players who are inviting them back are also being rewarded with the in–game mount should the resurrected player purchase a subscription.

Merkurius To answer your question about whether you can boost a character to 80 then come back and transfer it later, it clearly states in the walkthrough that the transfer and the level increase happen at the same time. Once you have clicked «continue» button on that screen, you will not be able to come back to it.

However due to the mechanics involved we cannot guarantee that creating a level one character and then loading it up with gold and items and doing the boost/transfer will work either.

Malachazar I am sorry to see that you have yet to receive a reply to your ticket but please be patient and I hope you get your answer soon.

Bear in mind that if you want to send a scroll to a different account, you should still be able to do so even though you already have an outstanding one.

Shamebringer Does your guild not have a forum or website? I appreciate you are in a difficult situation, but sadly there would be no other way to contact them unless you knew them outside of the game and could get a message to them that way. Or you get lucky and someone from that guild sees your post here.

Alternatively do you not have other friends in–game who could pass on a message or even send you a scroll themselves?

Moaner Please contact our Account and Payment team about this and they can take a look into it for you.

Tedstery I understand you are frustrated having to wait, but due to the increased volume of web tickets from players either wanting assistance or asking questions, there is a long wait on our response times.

Going through the newer posts, in order…

————————————————————————————————————————————————

Krinkin, if you currently have an active subscription on your account then I’m afraid it won’t become eligible later on. It’s necessary for an account to have been inactive on, or prior to, the Scroll of Resurrection re–launch for it to be eligible, so allowing your subscription to elapse at a later date sadly won’t fulfil that criteria.

Apologies for any disappointment caused.

Xurudov, an ‘escalated’ ticket usually means that it’s been passed on for further or additional investigation, so hopefully you were told it could take some time for a full resolution due to our longer than normal wait times at the moment.

Unfortunately, it’s not really possible for us to provide any kind of ETA in that regard, but best of luck for a speedy resolution nonetheless!

Hexdoctor, if your friend hasn’t done so already, he should get in touch with our Account and Payment team for further assistance. He’s welcome to either make a web ticket or call directly, but calling is obviously faster given the current backlog of support tickets. Good luck!

Please bear in mind that support response times are quite high at the moment, so it may be quicker to call than sending a web ticket.

Erayla, as Allanonn says, if you’ve already sent one invitation through the website then it unfortunately won’t be possible to send another one until the next day. It may also be worth clearing your browser cache and cookies to be on the safe side though, particularly if this reoccurs.

Levella, you do indeed get to choose which character you’d like to receive the mount on – just like with our Recruit–a–Friend promotion.

Azerothe, it seems I may have actually replied to another thread which you posted in yesterday.

You can find the link here; http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3429856814#20

Account and Payment Support

If you haven’t accepted it, however, it’s worth seeing if your friend can maybe send you another invitation once the daily cooldown is up. Good luck.

Daremythia, I did actually reply to the other thread you posted in, but I’ll quote my response here as I also locked it!

Greetings Daremythia,

Unfortunately the forum search currently isn’t working, so I’m unable to easily see whether you did create another topic for your query, but I’ll answer it very quickly here before I lock the thread (as Lycanthos raises a good point, in terms of posting unrelated queries in an existing thread, as this can not only prove confusion, but can also make it hard to spot the fact that a further question has been asked).

So, in order to receive the mount reward from a Scroll of Resurrection invitation, your friend would need to either add a prepaid gametime card (at any time) or create a usual subscription payment that won’t be billed until the initial 7 days of free gametime have finished.

If you’re still waiting for your mount reward and your friend believes they’ve paid, it’s likely to be due to the free gametime that this hasn’t occurred yet. As soon as they’re billed for an additional month, however, you should find the reward claimable through your Battle.net account.

Malachazar, it’s possible that there may simply have been a certain amount of delay due to the sheer influx of similar Character Services being processed at the moment, so hopefully things will have resolved themselves by the time you read this response.

If not, however, you’re welcome to get in touch with our Account and Payment team for additional help and advice.

Account and Payment Support

http://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/account-and-payment-support

Píg, actually I’m sorry to say that you’ll only be able to claim the Scroll of Resurrection benefits with a single character, so if you’ve already used up the Character Services then it unfortunately won’t be possible to also boost another character to level 80.

If you’ve done the Character Transfer in error, however, and you’re happy to have it all reversed so that you can start over with a low level character then please get in touch with our Account and Payment team, in case they’re able to assist. Good luck!

Account and Payment Support

http://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/account-and-payment-support

Assazzina, sorry to hear that and I do hope you don’t need to wait too long.

Please do bear in mind, however, that we’re receiving a huge amount of incoming tickets and help requests related to the Scroll of Resurrection re–launch, so the response times are obviously far higher than normal.

Reaperx, glad to hear it all worked out for you.

Drakaara, as Allanonn says, your friend will need to get in touch with our Account and Payment team for further advice, as accepting the Wrath of the Lich King Trial will have made him ineligible in terms of our automated systems. They should hopefully be able to assist, however.

Ileana, I’m afraid I’m not really sure of the answer to whether the character would then receive the boost a long time later, if you’d already claimed it within Account Management. However, if you did wish to save the character level boost (as well the Character Service benefits) for later on, you should be able to do so simply be not claiming those rewards just yet.

As for the feedback regarding the features currently available within Account Management, such an idea might be better posted on the General Forum, where any ideas can be seen and passed on as necessary by our Community team.

Aradysh, I’d actually recommend you post the first part of your query over on our Technical Support Forum, as they’ll be better qualified to give you appropriate advice. Simply head on over and make a new thread when you next get the chance.

As for the second part of your query, as long as you don’t claim any of the rewards (aside from the 7 days, which is obviously automatic), you should be able to keep them to one side for future use without issue.

Butsy, you can actually send as many as you want, but only up to a maximum of two per day (one through the website, and one in–game). I believe Allanonn’s response above refers to how many you can receive and claim, which is obviously only one per account.

Darkool, I’m glad to hear that Allanonn’s advice helped you locate your invitation, and I hope you enjoy the promotion.

Incidentally, you might want to take a look at the following Support Site article, just in case;

Melirose, if you used one of our promotional campaigns recently then that will unfortunately have rendered you ineligible to claim any Scroll of Resurrection invitations via Battle.net Account Management.

However, our Account and Payment team are looking to help any similarly affected players, and hopefully thereby allow them to claim the rewards anyway, so please do get in touch with them for further assistance;

Account and Payment Support

http://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/account-and-payment-support

Bear in mind that the queues are pretty long at the moment, so if you’re able to call then that’s definitely the fastest way to get things resolved. Good luck!

Merkurius, interestingly enough I actually spoke to Tailyda about your case when you originally posted, as we’ve also had some other similar reports.

Effectively, it may well not be possible to load up a new character with such an amount of currency and then perform the level boost and Character Services together, merely due to the way the level boost functionality works (in vague terms, the boost does happen prior to the Character Transfer and/or Faction Change, but the system won’t recognise this during initiation of all the benefits at once, which is obviously necessary when redeeming the rewards).

However, we have been able to assist players that tried this, couldn’t perform the Character Services, and therefore took only the level boost to start with, as they obviously then lost the ability to perform the Transfer/Faction Change.

Now I can’t advise this directly, as such, assuming you haven’t performed the Character Services or level boost yet, but should you loose the ability to perform the latter due to only accepting the former, our Account and Payment team may be able to assist;

Account and Payment Support

http://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/account-and-payment-support

As above, I’d advise calling rather than sending in a web or in–game ticket, as the ticket response times are extremely long at the moment due to the sheer influx of requests.

Hopefully that provides a little more information and clarification for you, and good luck!

Fugitarane, unfortunately we’re not really the best channel to express any feedback about the newly revamped Scroll of Resurrection promotion, but you’re very welcome to post over on our General Forum if you’d like to voice any thoughts on the subject.

Stonebender, I’m sorry to say that which countries are or aren’t eligible for this kind of promotion is actually determined by legal restrictions within each country individually, and as a result sadly isn’t something that we as a company have any control over.

We’ve posted some more in depth explanations of the situation, though unfortunately not ones including legal specifics, previously on this forum, so if you were interested you might want to try a quick forum search to locate some such responses.

Apologies for any disappointment the situation may have caused you, either way.

Diomides, Khaléési has already posted the necessary information for you, so hopefully this’ll help you make your decision. If you do decide to go for it then welcome back in advance!

Xurudov, glad to hear it.

Tommyderp, unfortunately it’s actually only possible to use the Scroll of Resurrection benefits on one character, so if you’ve used the rewards on the wrong character (or you’ve simply forgotten to make use of the Character Services on the character you gave the level boost to) then you’ll need to get in contact with our Account and Payment team for help;

Fasharn, if the Wrath of the Lich King Trial was active on your account when the promotion launched, or you added it just afterwards in error, then that would hopefully be something our Account and Payment team could assist with.

However, your account will have been rendered ineligible as far as the automated systems are concerned, so it’ll only be possible for our Accounts team to manually apply any benefits if they can help.

As you’ve already been given the contact details just above, all that remains is for me to wish you the best of luck with your call or ticket.

Giorgino, please bear in mind that it’s potentially normal for the Scroll of Resurrection invitation to take a few days to reach you (assuming your friend got the details right originally), as they’re sent out in batches at various points in the day and there’s obviously also a certain amount of backlog present.

Do keep checking within Battle.net Account Management if the invitation has still yet to arrive, and you also might want to take a look at the following Support Site article, just in case.

How can I make sure I can receive e–mail from Blizzard?

http://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/receiving-email-from-blizzard-enterta...

Дартвейдар, I’m glad to hear that you were able to locate your desired character when claiming the Scroll of Resurrection rewards, but please do bear in mind that you won’t be given the option to change your faction unless the character your friend sent the invitation from was already of that opposing faction.

If your friend’s character is the opposite faction, and you believe you therefore should be able to also receive a Faction Change, please get in touch with our Account and Payment team for further assistance and advice;

Mangovision, if you’ve already managed to move one of your characters using the Scroll of Resurrection benefits then I’m afraid you won’t also be able to choose to Faction Change as an additional reward – the Scroll of Resurrection rewards apply to one single character only, and whether you’re able to move server or alter your faction is actually determined by the realm of the character that sent the original invite.

With the above being said, if you’ve made any errors in selecting which character you’d like to claim the rewards on, please do get in contact with our Account and Payment team for further assistance;

Unfatal, I’m afraid Allanonn is correct and, although I obviously can’t comment on the specifics of your friend’s situation, there won’t be any possibility for you to receive a Scroll of Resurrection invitation if your account is currently active (nor would this be something our support team could override for you, unfortunately).

Tolned, it has indeed reset since the original iteration of the Scroll of Resurrection was in existence, so any players that originally claimed one should also be able to do so now, as long as they meet the other eligibility criteria.

I’m glad it worked for you, therefore.

Sáphira, as long as Cyprus isn’t counted as part of Greece for the purposes of the promotion, I’m afraid it’s intended that you wouldn’t be able to make use of the scheme, for legal reasons.

With regards to any support contacts, please do bear in mind that our support response times are currently much higher than normal due to the large influx of Scroll of Resurrection related requests at the moment, so if you’ve made a ticket please ensure you leave it open until you hear back from us in reply.

Finally, if your query is only concerning the Recruit–a–Friend promotion, rather than Scroll of Resurrection, you might want to avoid posting into this dedicated sticky, as it could cause confusion.

Vulpius, please bear in mind that your friends actually need to pay for an additional month of gametime before the mount reward will be unlocked on your own account. By this, I mean that the promotional 7 days of free gametime need to have expired, else no money will be taken from your friends’ credit cards until that time (unless they chose to use a prepaid gametime card, in which case it should be nearly instant, within reason).

Glad to hear you’ve received one of the mounts already, and hopefully the above explains any additional delay.

Gwenuar, I’m sorry to say that if your account was active on, and after, the 4th of this month (and only later became inactive, after the launch of the new version of Scroll of Resurrection) then there sadly won’t be any possibility for us to help you claim these rewards, as your account just doesn’t meet the required criteria.

To explain further, if we were to help players in situations such as yours, anyone interested in claiming a free level 80 character would have been able to unsubscribe after we announced the promotion, and then later claim it… which regrettably defeats the point of such a scheme in the first place.

Prindle, it looks like it was actually me that responded to your standalone thread, but glad to hear once more that we were able to get any issues sorted for you eventually.

Adeilen, that information should hopefully already have been provided in our official Scroll of Resurrection FAQ, but just to confirm – an account doesn’t need to have been inactive for a certain period of time in order to be able to claim a Scroll of Resurrection, just inactive on or before the cut–off point of the 4th of March, 2012.

Hopefully that helps explain, but if you have any other questions or queries then please don’t hesitate to check out the FAQ or post here if it’s not already covered therein.

Mapleboy, I’m sorry to say that the 5th of March would be past the eligibility cut–off point, so the account to which that data pertains sadly wouldn’t be eligible for the promotion in its current form.

Apologies for any disappointment caused.

Falendur, I do hope that the situation you describe in your post has since been resolved or resolved itself, as I can see your level boosted character on its new real (not the one you mention here) in addition to noticing that your most recent web ticket seems to have been abandoned.

[Guide] How to call Blizzard

Ohnoudidnt, I’m afraid the latter of the two scenarios you provided is correct, and the character from which you send the invitation determines where any newly created characters would end up.

There’s two potential ways around this situation, however. One involves your friend accepting the original Scroll of Resurrection invitation you sent him anyway, and simply creating a new character on Grim Batol and then selecting only the level boost for that character (this is assuming he doesn’t have older characters on other realms he might like to boost instead). The other option involves you sending him a new Scroll of Resurrection invitation, from one of your Grim Batol characters this time, and him waiting until that arrives so that he can make use of any and all rewards and still be sure to end up with you as a result.

Hopefully one of those two options will work out for you both, and if you have any other queries or questions then please don’t hesitate to ask!

Pantsbeard, it sounds like there are potentially two different factors at work here, so I’ll break them down into what will hopefully be the most easily explained format.

So, firstly, it’s likely case of needing to work out why your girlfriend’s account might be ineligible in the first place – had she ever paid for gametime on that account? Are either you or she perhaps in a country that prohibits the use of the promotion? These potential stumbling blocks are more important to address than whether the second invitation may or may not have arrived, as if the account was ineligible with the first Scroll of Resurrection you sent, it’s likely to continue to be ineligible for any later ones.

Secondly, with regards to the missing invitation, please bear in mind that it may take several days to arrive (as the mails are sent out in batches, and there can occasionally be a bit of a backlog), and that it’s a good idea for your girlfriend to keep an eye on her Battle.net Account Management (in the Scroll of Resurrection section), as invitations can show up there before the mail arrives.

Coming back to the first point again, I’d probably recommend that she calls our Account and Payment team directly if the account ineligibility issue persists (assuming you’ve both had a look at the FAQ and can’t see any obvious reasons why she might not be eligible in the first place). They’ll be able to investigate the situation further, and if necessary apply any rewards to her account manually.

Ffuugguu The answer to your question can be found on the first page.

When will I receive the mount?

Your friend will have to pay for 30 days of game time for you to qualify for the mount. You will need to send it to a character of your choice through Battle.net account management in the Scroll of Resurrection page.

Please note that you will only get the mount after the payment has been processed, which in turn only happens after the 7 days of free game time that comes with accepting a Scroll of Resurrection has expired. However, the mount will be sent immediately if a Game Time Card is added to the resurrected account.

Hello Alendo.

(27/3/2012)

I'm afraid that this is after the cut–off date:

Scroll of Resurrection FAQ

http://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/200759

To be eligible to receive a Scroll of Resurrection, your friend must have a full (non–Starter Edition) World of Warcraft account, and their account must have become inactive on or before 4th March 2012.

Binabik, basically they are 2 different promotions; one focussing on new accounts and the other on returning (and both of them reward veterans of course). This is why they are set–up differently. So, if you would like to benefit from the Recruit–a–Friend rewards, you will need to create a new account from the link sent to you when your friend sends the invite. However, it cannot be used to resurrect inactive accounts I'm afraid.

That was an older promotion Bernt, this is Scroll of Resurrection 2.0 as it were. There may be future iterations I guess, but we don't have any information on that right now. Things change.

Both the boost and the transfer needed to be done at the same time when signing up with the scroll Bérserker. You will not be able to save one of them for future use I am afraid.

Have you checked your Battle.net Account Management page Satsuka?

I have looked into this for you and it appears that a Scroll was sent to you on the 5th of this month.

That would be correct Valcyn.

The old Scroll of Resurrection has no bearing on the new one Deserteagle.

You cannot use the old scroll and if you had accepted one of the old ones previously, you will still be able to use the new one providing you're eligible.

That is already answered in the FAQ Gats.

Who can be sent a Scroll of Resurrection?

To be eligible to receive a Scroll of Resurrection, your friend must have a full (non–Starter Edition) World of Warcraft account, and their account must have become inactive on or before 4th March 2012.

So how about it support, maybe you could contact somebody who can make a decision and let us know if the Scroll Of Ress effective date can/will/wont be changed and let us know please ?

I'm afraid not.

so my account is Frozen since 17 may 2012

I'm afraid that your account is not eligible in that case Warina. =(

Ebatin it is not based on the amount of days, there is a specific cut–off date as you can see in the original post. If your account was not inactive before that date then it will never be eligible for this particular iteration of the Scroll. Sorry. =(

I understand that you're keen to come back using the Scroll of Resurrection offer Cynite, but I am afraid that as you have missed the cut–off date you are not eligible and we will not be able to assist you.

Helixia I can see that three invitations have been sent to that account and if you're having difficulty following the link, have you tried doing it through your Battle.net Account Management page instead? If you are still having trouble, our Support team will be happy to assist you when your petition gets answered.

Shaq You currently have vanilla wow installed (which is the original wow and the first expansion «The Burning Crusade»). Information on sending and receiving an invitation can be found in our Support Article here.

http://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/sor-walkthrough

For more information on eligibility, you are welcome to take a look at our FAQ here.

Stirips Firstly ensure that you can receive our mails.

If you are certain that you have been sent an invite, you can also set up the process through your Battle.net Account Management.

Xarken As above, if you wish to check eligibility, please read through our FAQ.

As for the promotion, it is still on and you can boost your character to 80 and get the expansion upgrade.

Firstly your brothers shouldn't be sharing an account Munroé.

Secondly as long as the account is eligible, you'll be able to resurrect it.

Check the advice in the original post Nasillion:

I know my friend sent me a Scroll of Resurrection but I haven’t received it
Scrolls of Resurrection are sent out once a day, so it could take up to 24 hours for it to show up in your mailbox. Also, make sure that you haven’t recently changed your Battle.net account name – the Scroll has to be sent to the e–mail address that corresponds to your Battle.net account name. Also, don’t forget to check your spam folder.
Information on how to ensure that you can receive e–mails from Blizzard can be found in our Support Article here.

Hello there Drdraenei.

While I definitely sympathise with your situation and hope our offer of compromise is some consolation to you, our CS agents do have strict policies to stick to in this regard. Your feedback is best channelled to the people in control of those policies (CSFeedbackEU@blizzard.com) but I can tell you that the time limit is imposed for several reasons. Amongst other things it helps us to identify genuine errors and mistakes, prevents potential exploitation, creates regional consistency, preserves the integrity and intent of the feature and helps us to assist those with the same issue more efficiently.

This is why it is very important to inform Blizzard Customer Support if you make any mistakes when playing our games or using our services.

Motanu — I believe your issue is now resolved?

Scraps — I'm sorry we are not able to offer this feature to your country but unfortunately, as much as we would love to make the offer available to everyone, the matter is out of Blizzard's hands. =(

Additional info for Hybritiud:

From the Scroll of Resurrection FAQ:

http://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/scroll-of-resurrection-faq#q22

How long is the level boost available for once I accept my Scroll?

If left unclaimed, the level boost will remain available for the entire duration of the Scroll of Resurrection promotion. However, the 7 days of game time will be granted to your World of Warcraft license immediately after accepting the Scroll.

and…

http://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/scroll-of-resurrection-faq#q15

What benefits are there for accepting a Scroll of Resurrection invitation?

The Scroll’s recipient immediately receives a free digital upgrade to World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. Additionally, the Scroll’s receiver can permanently boost one character to level 80 so that they can jump straight into the adventure for their 7 days of free game time!

Note: Monks are not eligible to receive the level boost reward. Pandaren characters that are not Monks may receive a level boost only after they have chosen a faction.

I just want to reiterate what Saneko has said multiple times in this thread now.

To be eligible to receive a Scroll of Resurrection, your friend must have a full (non–Starter Edition) World of Warcraft account, and their account must have been inactive (without an active subscription) on or before March 4th, 2012.

This date has not changed, it is an integral part of the feature and will remain so for the foreseeable future.

If the promotion does change in any way, it will be announced to the public through our Community blogs on the home page of this website.

Thanks.

No Brauzen. The realm transfer perk is designed to bring you to the friend who is resurrecting you. If they are on a different realm to the accepting character, then the option to move will be available to you when you apply the other rewards. If you are already on the same realm then there is no point in offering the transfer. I suggest you ensure your friend is where they want to be before activating.

From the Scroll of Resurrection FAQ:

How do I redeem my mount once my friend subscribes?

Visit your Account Management page and click on the Scroll of Resurrection option. Under the History/Status tab, you will see a Claim Mount button when you are able to redeem the mount. Clicking the Claim Mount button will send it via in–game mail to your chosen character.

Note: The mount can only be redeemed once per Scroll, but every character on your Battle.net account can use it through the Mount Journal.
