I updated my home system last night and did a ~4 hour raid session without a single crash or black screen. What kind of hardware are you running?

Uragirimono, try removing your three 1 GB sticks and see if it makes a difference. Some x58 systems don't like mismatched sticks too much and a new service pack might do funny things.

I'm having the same issue, and would appreciate a response.

I installed the Service Pack 1 last night (running on Windows 7 Home Basic 64 bit) and now WoW doesn't work, saying «World of Warcraft Retail has stopped working…» and so on.

But that's not all.

Mass Effect 2 does not work, Oblivion does not work, League of Legends and Tomb Raider: Anniversary do not work either, all shutting down immediately after clicking the executable with a similar error.

Some games do work, particularly Metro 2033 and Bad Company 2.

I'm not sure on the specifics of what causes the errors, and why it does so only on some games and not on others, however I — am — certain that this started after SP1 was installed.

Sounds like a program you had installed at some point is no longer working. I'd try this first — http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=21052

If you had any window skinning software or software development tools, you might want to either uninstall or reinstall them while Service Pack 1 is installed.

If you have an antivirus program installed, try removing that and then running the System File Check tool in Windows (sfc /scannow)

tryed that didn't work

I guess you have a choice of SFC /scannow or uninstalling that service pack for now. Alternatively you could try the older stuff that got people around the not responding issues like installing updated motherboard chipset drivers, the.NET Framework updates (mainly 3.5 and 4.0) and C++ runtime packages but those were pre–service pack stuff.

Got a report from the StarCraft II forums where the EVGA Precision utility caused a few issues with games. If you have it installed, try removing it. If you have similar utilities (MSI Afterburner, etc), try removing those.
