Syisha,

Please go to the errors folder within your WoW folder (default location: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Errors). Then copy and paste the information from the newest dated text file from there into your reply so we can troubleshoot the issue further.

Decided to make a new worgen toon, only for the game to crash before the loading screen bar is at half. I've ran the repair tool, delete the usual folders, even tired making the character again a few times as well as making a few of a different race in that slot. The game pretty much gives me the error that it is the glineas maps that are crashing.

I did put a ticket in at one point, was sent to another person and sent them all the info, but was then told to update my drivers, card, etc. Did all that and still the same thing. Just wanted to see if anyone else is having a similar problem or any new ideas on how to fix this that doesn't involve making a toon of another race. My last thing to try is to reinstall the game, but I wanted to seek advice here first before doing that.

Alvarie,

Has your worgen left the starting area? The Worgen starting area is actually a separate instance. You can discover the map sections while inside of it, but once you leave the starting area those discoveries won't translate to the outside version of Gilneas.

If you visit the Ruins of Gilneas you should be able to discover new areas.

Syisha,

Your Error shows that the game is trying to repair itself but was unable to access the network. This normally means something is blocking it.

Try disabling any firewall and anti–virus programs (Norton, McAfee, etc) that you are using and then try the game. That can permit repair to complete successfully. If disabling the security resolves the issue then you'll want to make sure to add WoW.exe and Launcher.exe to your security exceptions when you enable it again.

Syisha,

Thanks for the update.

The error was being caused by a specific data file that was failing to load. By moving your character, the game no longer needs to load that file. It's a work around. I'm not sure it you will run into that file again, but if you do then you will probably encounter the error.

The error log shows that the file is something related to Gilneas, I assume you'll be pretty safe until you start a new Worgen character. The ruins of Gilneas aren't exactly a high traffic spot.
