I'd like a better explanation than «oh, there was probably a system glitch» that I got from customer support on the phone earlier today.

I reported someone early this morning (tank coming in naked and pulling trying to wipe us, all the while telling offensive jokes, and we couldn't kick for 15 minutes, then couldn't kick for a while more as he kept in constant combat — it's amazing how far a naked tank can run from a boss without dying).

Got handled within an hour or so (kudos!), with the usual «we can't tell you what will happen, but thanks for telling us about it» response.

Several hours later, I noticed I had an e–mail from Blizzard (and all links appeared legit) that my password had been reset. So I called Billing to verify it was a legit e–mail (it was) and why it had been reset.

I was told that my account had been flagged as «compromised», and the ticket that flagged it was the one where I had reported the tank (she even read the text of it; I said «does that sound like my account was compromised?»)…

So — how did my account get flagged? GM pressed the wrong button, or some more serious issue going on? If it was a wrong button press, does that mean my original complaint ended up not actually getting properly investigated? My original concern was that the person I had reported might have tried hacking into my account, either getting it flagged for too many failed attempts, or requesting a password reset somehow (though I'd assume someone would need to know my e–mail address for the account and be able to answer a security question before even being offered the option to have my password reset).

«system glitch» isn't an adequate explanation. I know you can't tell me what the disposition of my complaint is, I just want to know why it ended up flagging MY account.

Thank you!

No. It doesn't mean that at all.

My original concern was that the person I had reported might have tried hacking into my account, either getting it flagged for too many failed attempts, or requesting a password reset somehow (though I'd assume someone would need to know my e–mail address for the account and be able to answer a security question before even being offered the option to have my password reset).

That simply isn't possible. Not unless you gave them specific account related information, they wouldn't otherwise be able to acquire it in–game.

«system glitch» isn't an adequate explanation. I know you can't tell me what the disposition of my complaint is, I just want to know why it ended up flagging MY account.

What exactly are you looking for, Tricorn? It was an error, the account should not have otherwise been sent up as compromised but for some reason it was. Upon investigation it appears that it was forwarded based on your original petition, since your petition was a harassment issue and should not otherwise be associated with a compromise report the error would likely be a «glitch in the system». The issue you reported was otherwise looked into and appropriate actions were taken.

Sorry for the confusion.
