(Sorry if is in the wrong forum)

Dear Blizz,

I've been playing wow for about months now. To say at the very least I am addicted and I actually love the game. It's my first MMO and real Life friends got me to play. I'm quite amazed at how big the WOW world is and all of the different aspects the game has to offer.

The Problem — Currently this game is too expensive to get new players into. IMO the game is about end game progression. Sure leveling an alt is fun and has a lot to offer but everyone I talk to wants to know about Raids and all that includes beng a level 85 character.

I come from a very poor family. I managed to keep my head down and stay away from the chaos the seemed to surround me growing up and managed to make something of my self. I have a great job and can afford my hobbies. The problem is my family can't. I can't pay for everyone to get into the game. 120+ to get into the game is just not going to happen for so many i know. I really think this needs to be adjusted to a more reasonable amount.

Know that most of my family owns COD: BO, and they all downlowd games and songs from itunes. They all have crappy PC's as well, i know crappy PC's can play your game. It's not that they dont have money to play the things the want its the fact that their car insurance bill cost roughtly the same as the game would. I just honestly feel that if the game cost 60$ to get all the content you would open it up a lot more people.

It really kills me that I let my little cousins play my characters when they come over and have to tell them they cant get it due to the price. When I talk to their parents the price of the game is just out of reach.

I'd really like to play with more friends and family, please consider lowering the the cost of the game.

* for those of you who say just buy the first game then as you progress buy the others. I've mentioned that to them but in reality people want it and they want it now. It doesnt take long to level a charater now so they will hit the level cap long before they can get the expansions.

My 2 cents,

Thank you for posting constructively, Furbag. While this suggestion is best suited for the General forum, I would like to clarify a few things. I have locked this thread and kindly request you post in the General forum if you feel it necessary.

There is a misconception that new players to World of Warcraft need to purchase all the games right out the gate. This is not true. To start the game a new player only needs classic World of Warcraft. This allows the player to level up to level 60 and generally retails for $19.99 USD. Included with this purchase is 30 days of gameplay. Later on down the road they could purchase the expansions. If they would like more than just classic WoW, the Battlechest which includes both classic WoW and Burning Crusade) retails for $39.99 USD. Lastly, if a player has a trial account and would like to upgrade up to Cataclysm, they can do so for $99.99 through our website. This is a savings of about 23%.

The minimum subscription fee is $14.99/month. This is really not that high of a price for a subscription to a game that does not limit the amount of hours one can play — — outside of maintenance and other issues that could arise of course. Consider this price is the same as a matinee movie for 2 people and will hardly cover popcorn and drinks.

While I do not see our current pricing changing anytime in the near future, it does not mean it won't down the road.
